Hi
I’m Jess, a writer based in Georgia.
I began writing in a diary I received at age 10. I quickly realized it was more than just keeping track of daily events. I was a book lover from the start and before I could read, I would beg to hear stories that had alternate endings the reader could choose.
Fast forward through countless notebooks, two laptops and tons of time spent raising a family. I am focused on my Master of Fine Arts in English and Creative Writing.
I remember hearing that a writer writes because they have to and not necessarily for money, recognition or fame. That has been true in my life. I find comfort in the process and helping others with that as well. I am a dog lover and keep chickens and a garden which suffers from neglect occasionally while I get invested in a new character. Currently, I have three novels in the works. I mainly write contemporary fiction which could be labeled thriller. I have an extensive collection of short stories and look forward to sharing their publication locations soon.
My Philosophy
Show Up
Half the battle is won when we show up for ourselves. Showing up can be sitting in front of your keyboard or getting out paper and a pen.

Set Intentions
Ok, you showed up, now let’s set an intention of where we are going. What do you want to have happen and work backwards from there? Want a novel written? Start your first sentence with that intention.
Work is Work
So many times we are sold this idea that the process or our work should look a certain way or happen a certain way. None of us are clones. Don’t judge your work against someone else’s. No one is you and no one can write what you do. Focus less on what it looks like and more on what your goal is.
